I have recently been getting into Madonna, and I have a few of her albums. I listened to this one by chance, because I didn't recognize any of the songs on it. I cannot stop listening to it. This album is so raw. RAW is the only word for this album. I'm not used to hearing such a serious side of Madonna - I feel like this album is essential to her personal development. Listening to this album relates to my life so well right now, as I'm sure it would with anyone that is 21 and in college and facing the biggest decisions of their lives. This is a MUST HAVE.

Now, when I think of Madonna I think of...well, the 80's....? But this, this is so futuristic for even 2011, it's horrifyingly spectacular. Compared to most music, this is the adroit choice. Oh! And everyone who gave this album a 3 or less star review were illiterate meaning they are imbeciles.

This is one of Madonna's strongest albums to date. I don't care that it wasn't as popular as others. What matters is Madge went out there and made a statement (which some people didn't feel to comfortable with). Stand out tracks: Hollywood, Nobody Knows Me, Nothing Fails, Mother and Father and Die Another Day. This is deep music for people who really listen to music on a deeper level than just to dance to. This album is for those people

"Nobody Knows Me" is a hot funky dance song. This is a Wonderful album with great songs. The infectious "Love Profusion" The Fun "Hollywood are just a couple of HOT songs from this CD. "Mother and Father" is a very personal song ala "Promise To Try" with personal lyrics. You also get the gem Die Another Day from 007 I don't know why some fans turned away from this CD Was it the Army military theme? Get over it and pick up this album NOW!!!!
  • Madonna's worst legit cd

Course with the average itunes rating, someone's worst cd is still a 4 star one. I can think of 8 Madonna albums top of my head that are better than this one. Almost no songs stand out. No songs just grab you. None of the rhythms are super catchy, no words uber-witty, its just there. Good album to have if you want the complete Madonna...if not, dont bother.

I'm not even a big Madonna fan and I love this CD. The lyrics are so real and the feelings are even more real! If you listen to this while thinking about the state of the country in the eyes of other nations and while our dollar is dropping and people die everywhere from idiotic beliefs- this CD will make you think.
  • Madonna's best album up until "Confessions on a Dance Floor"

With each subsequent album, Madonna has gotten better and better. Where "Ray of Light" was a highly-produced album (then the follow-up album "Music" was very sparsely-produced) this album strikes a perfect balance--being neither too rich nor too raw. While many people didn't quite get this album, I believe this album shows her fascination (and disillusionment) with Hollywood, marriage, the American Dream and her own fame while remaining Spiritual in the process.
