As a long time Fanchester, I have heard these songs a million times either live or re-recorded. I realize she has only had 3 top 10 hits, but she has written better songs throughout her career and does not play them live, just these 10 songs. It’s also weird that she would insult Stevie Nicks about her vocals on the Kenny Loggins classic Whenever I Call You Friend by saying in recent interviews that she asked Stevie how come she does not perform that song live, and then snickers, because she can’t sing it! Stevie has had multiple charted top 10 classics, Grammy Awards and has sold more multi platinum albums that could not compete with Melissa’s one barely gold album. Stevie was kind enough to respond the way she did, very classy. Melissa is also not too proud of her catalog and blames men who controlled her career for the lack of success when it was truly the opposite. Clive Davis put her in the music map while she kicked and screamed about the songs he helped make her semi popular. I wish her well with her new ‘acceptance’ of her career so she can continue some kind of success on a different level, but I believe there is nothing new or interesting here fir me anymore.

I've always been a fan and was looking forward to this one. I have to say that my favorite song on the album Melissa Manchester's new recording of "Just Too Many People." Check it out! (I wish Nice Girls and Mathematics was also included.)

Melissa Manchester continues to be a gift to us. Her voice still beautiful and her delivery is still heartfelt. It is wonderful to be able to hear these songs which have been part of my life for so long in new arrangements. Listen to Midnight Blue, the duet with Dolly Parton. Just as beautiful as it was all those years ago.

Not only does Ms. Manchester revisit these great songs, she brings the talents of so many artists to amplify her music. Beautiful.
