At the end of 1978, Melissa Manchester appeared on American Bandstand singing her then rising top 10 hit Don't Cry Out Loud. The song charted for months into the next year March 1979. Melissa's appearence reflected a troubadour turning diva, as she song the song the best I've heard live! She also does sang it on The Muppet Show where she looked a little more polished and sang with great confidence.
