Reviews

  • One of Tull's best albums

Start to finish (especially now with the bonus tracks), Stormwatch stands with Aqualung, Thick as A Brick, and Stand Up as my favorite Jethro Tull albums. Outside the Tull canon, it stands with the best of its contemporaries' releases by Rush, Moody Blues, etc. at a time when many other bands were getting soft and putting out watered-down music. Stormwatch goes from strength to strength with each song.
  • Wintertime blue sky.

First of all, great album cover, one of Tull's best. Secondly, this album has my favorite batch of song titles,....Flying Dutchman, Old Ghosts (even though they are my least favorite songs on the album), Warm Sporran, etc.. The first half is quite good, my two favorites being the 9 minute progressive song Dark Ages( featuring some great guitar work by Martin Barre), and the sweet and lovely ballad Home. The second half isn't as strong, though it starts and ends well with Something's On The Move and the sad instrumental Elegy, one of very few Tull songs not to be written by Ian Anderson. Fantastic front and back cover, giving the album a wintry feel. Cool album!
  • This Album is so underrated!

By far one of my personal JT albums. 'Orion', 'Dark Ages', and 'Something's on the Move' are the main highlights here, but the rest are fantastic as well.
