For those knocking this work because Ian Andersen doesn’t have the same voice he had 50 years ago - you are delusional. No one does. So don’t expect Aqualung or TAAB here. This is a nice album, not a memorable one but listenable. Three Loves, Three gets as close to an old Tull feel as any of the songs. The biggest drawback, as is common in this digital age, is the production is one-note throughout - the raw rough feel of the old analog studios is gone. Again, I guess, expecting anything different is a fool’s game.
  • Sit this one out.

Ian Anderson just cannot sing anymore. He lost his voice years ago. The music is okay but nothing special. Getting rid of Martin Barre was a mistake. And what an ugly cover! I’m definitely sitting this one out.
  • It’s classic Jethro Tull

This album has the making of a classic Jethro Tull album. It sounds like it could have been released in 1972 instead of 2022. The vocals and instrumentation are spot on.

Fine music, long live Mr. Ian Anderson. This great and unique artist has assembled a skilled and cohesive band of musicians. Aqualung was indeed a long time ago, but Ian has learned a thing or two, survived and even here thrives. Grab a shot or three of Jack Daniels with your favorite IPA, and just enjoy don’t think. The sublime delight will slip in after repeated listening. Indeed, Where did Saturday go. To the March of the enchanting flute it whistled away like a fine summer day.
  • Exactly as I expected. No breakthrough inspiration

A new vocalist, a different cadence, different lyrics to accompany the rest of the music would really improve the album to something I might listen to more than once or twice.

I have been waiting for this to become available ever since I saw it’s projected release a couple months ago. I’m not going to say that this will be one of Tull’s best, but my preview listening and first time through today reveals a work that is uniquely Ian Anderson and Tull !!! And The reality that this is released, at a very high quality, two decades since the last release is a tribute to Tull’s greatness. I can’t think of any other British band that achieved this lofty perch. I wonder how listeners of a younger age who weren’t around for Aqualung will respond to this offering??
  • Amazing masterpiece!

This sounds awesome! The instruments and the voice remind me of Peter and the rabbit.
