I was looking for something new in great rock album and found it. It good for so many reasons. It’s fun, well written, and of course rocks.
  • Full transition from metal to pop - but that's ok.

I tried this album out wondering if they might have migrated back to those modern heavy metal roots. It did not. I was actually surprised that they went full pickle on the pop sound that they had slowly migrated to over the years. The entire album is pop rock - but it has a very consistent Volbeat sound, although vocals sound tweaked or over-processed just a smidge. If you are an old-school fan waiting for them to pull a Metallica and give you a metal album after all the years of pop - keep waiting, because it's not this album. Bands age and mature, and change direction. Simple as that. These guys started out heavy, and found their niche in pop music - and that's ok. My suggestion is that iTunes would stop classifying these guys as metal. Please reclassify and stop teasing me into thinking they've gone back to metal. It's pop rock at best.

No band stays the same. Not as heavy, but still rock ‘n roll. Musicians age and most the time their later work doesn’t hit as hard as their earlier. We mellow with age, still kicka$$ album.
  • A few good ones

Decent, not their best. The high pitched yells really weaken the songs and make it sound like pop. Pelvis, Sack of bones, Everlasting, and Die to live save this album and make it worth buying if your a fan.
  • Keep on rocking

Volbeat brings back the rockabilly on this album, which until recently they've been trending away from. However, they're still trending away from the heaviness with the exception of two songs: Cheapside Sloggers and The Everlasting. The rest of the songs are more stadium-rock than metal. If that doesn't discourage you, then you'll find some great music here, especially on the 2nd half of the album. I don't think Volbeat will ever top Outlaw Gentlemen, but Rewind, Replay, Rebound is still worthy of five stars.
  • Solid, but far from perfect

Was slightly disappointed with this album, but not saying it’s horrible. There’s still plenty of solid songs, but a majority of the album just feels like recycled material from previous albums.
