I give this a 2 because the chanting was actually good. However, I was hoping for authentic Native American Music. This is to a point, but the background music is so overproduced with all sorts of modern sounds & synthesizers. If you are looking for the simplicity & authentic Native American instruments, this is NOT the right album for you. I chose it b/c it was on the top of almost every search I did for Best Native American Albums…I should have listened to more of the songs. There are so many albums that do the simplicity & beauty of this music better. I love the sparseness of Native American music. Simple traditional instruments that have been used for MANY generations, made by materials provided by the earth, mixed with the beautiful chanting of various tribes is what I wanted. Not tradition music with New Age music in the background.

"Sacred Spirit II" has an excellent mix of traditional Lakota and other Native American chants with contemporary world music. This album is beautiful in its own right. The Native chants mingle brilliantly with classical instruments. There are gorgeous melodies, some utilizing violin, viola & cello with mysterious, haunting Native American chants. Each song tells a beautiful story. The blending of old and new sounds of music feels like you're in another world. This album successfully combines ancient Native American ceremonial chants with modern instrumental arrangements through a cycle of celebration, wisdom, reverence and rebirth.

His/her voice & chanting deeply touch my heart, especially the spirit song. It is pretty hard to find heart touching music like this voice.

This album helps me pray and meditate on a daily basis. It's very spiritual and I love it!
