I'll do a review of each song The Takedown: 9/10 this is an amazing song and has an awesome opening riff. Fighting: 10/10 this feels like such an original song and the violin really is amazing. Shrink the world: 9/10 really meaningful lyrics and a great riff. Shadows and Regrets: 7/10 a little bit on the more generic end of yellowcards lyrics but still very good. Five Becomes Four: 9/10 very awesome concept. The lyrics are extremely original and the drums push through the mix well. Afraid: 8/10 one of my favorites of this album. The violin is super punchy in this track and the guitar blends well with it. Dear Bobbie: 6/10 not my favorite but the lyrics are meaningful. Doesn't go well with the rest of the albums pop punk style Date line (I am gone): 7/10 awesome pauses throughout the song and great drum fills. You and me and one spotlight: 7/10 starts off a bit softer but progresses which is something unique. The plucking on the violin was a great touch too. Cut me, mick: 8/10 The lyrics are very meaningful and the verse is awesome. Paper Walls: 9/10 the first riff is so amazing and the whole band and lyrics just flow really well. You can feel the blending of it all throughout this track which is very unique. Bombers: 6/10 although the lyrics seem not very thought through and generic it flows together well. Keeper: 8/10 Ryan Keys singing in this song was phenomenal! He really used all his vocal skills. Overall the album is put together very well and I absolutely love the new little concepts they used such as using a choir as the opening for Paper Walls.

I started listening to Yellowcard shortly after this album came out, I haven't listened to much of their ocean avenue album but I hear it's pretty solid. The reason I like this album so much is because I'm not to big a fan of their first two albums. They have the right idea but I didn't feel they connected with their songs that much. But this album was a big turning point in the way I see their music now. They connect so well and this album was a solid transition between the music they did in the past and the music they do now. I am a huge fan, and their music gets better and better with every album.
