J'adore cette version! Les paroles suivent très bien la version anglaise. Belles voix aussi! Si l'on ne parle pas français les paroles se trouvent sur l'internet.

Am at a loss for words to describe how incredibly amazing this album is. Recorded live at Albert Hall, the orchestra is perfect, the vocalists are beautiful, the mixing and sound spot on, together they comprise the quintessential version of Les Miz. The album is so far above any other. I am so glad that I read other reviews and sampled a few tracks. THIS IS LES MIZ AT ITS ABSOLUTE BEST!

I love this show, and I can listen in almost any language and enjoy it. This cast is perfect for the story and characters. Standouts are Stéphanie Martin and Jéôme Pradon. Robert Marien, Julien Combey, and the rest of the cast are excellent. Being a native English speaker and French language student, I hardly understand what is being said, but it helps with my study of French. Buy this album as a whole if you can. If not, buy J'avais Rêvé, À la Volonte du Peuple, Mon Histoire, Un Peu de Sang Qui Pleure, Comme Un Homme, and Final: C'est Pour Demain.

Listening to this album in French is just amazing! I can't begin to describe the obsession I have with it- but I will say that I'm very, VERY picky about my Les Mis recordings, and this is one of the best I've ever heard. Even if I have no knowledge of the french language, this album makes me want to clap at the Finale! The cast is simply fantastic, and the songs are so refreshing in their native language!
  • c'est super, mais l'anglais super aussi

The Original London cast was just amazing... nothing can beat Colm Wilkinson as Jean Valjean. Francess Ruffelle is amazing too. Of course there had to be a French version, and of course it had to be just as good, after all it is a French show haha. Both versions are great- there's something so sentimental about hearing the music in the language the events actually would have taken place in. Les Miserables est mon favorite! Bravo!

D'accord. Je suis dans un cours de francais, mais anglais est ma premiere langue. Je vais parler anglais maintanent! :) How was that? (Not very good...in my opinion) Anyway, I love this musical. It was only fitting, then, for me to hear it in french. And...WOW. It's very beautiful in french. It carries some of the feeling, being in the original tongue of the legacy of Valjean, that the English play lacks. Very nice! My favorites are: Le Bagne: Pitie, pitie (Prologue) La Confrontation (The Confrontation) Sous les Etoiles (Stars) C'est la faute a... (Similar to Little People) Le Suicide de Javert (Javert's Suicide) Perhaps you can tell I'm a huge Javert fan...he sings in all but one of the songs I mentioned. I love this Javert, perhaps not as much as I love Philip Quast...but I love his voice. It reaches VERY low notes...WOW! Tres bien, mes amies! J'aime beaucoup ton chapeau... :) Translation: Well, I love Les Mis...It's a great play, and it is magnificent! I want to see Les Mis, but I have a little sister, and my parents don't like Les Mis. :( I love you, Javert! You are very super and very handsome... I really like your hat...
  • Rare Recording Featuring Louise Pitre (of Broadway's Mamma Mia!)

This rare French cast recording is hard to get on CD. It took me nearly 2 years to track down a copy, so be grateful that iTunes makes it easy. I bought it solely for the appearance of Louise Pitre as Fantaine in this recording. She's French Canadian she completely blew me away in Mamma Mia! as well as her own recordings (Her "Shattered" album of torch songs is also available on iTunes even though the actual CD is not available in the US) and she's fantastic. I'm only sorry to see the powers that be decided not to record an Original Broadway cast of Mamma Mia! to showcase Louise's talent. At least you can enjoy her here in a French recording of Les Miz.
  • Love it!

I am just in love with Les Miserables; with both the book and the musical. This is how it should be sung and performed, in French. While maybe not the original French version of the musical (the original was in 1980), it is great to hear all the songs I know and love in French. They're all so beautiful!
