He Can Do It!

I have many of Hampson's recordings, mostly of Mahler. He has an enormously big voice. WIth Hampson you get the whole enchilada: Undertones, overtones, flawless diction, flawless German, dead on intonation. All of it. And so I was a buit apprehenxive about Hampson's Winterreise, which I believe requires a lighter, more vocally limber kind of voice.
Well, two things: I listened to a few of his recordings of Rossini's "Barber" and sampled this album before I hit "Buy."
I'm not disappointed. I"m elated. I mean, really, how can one discount the abilities of the one of the great baritones in the business?
