    First review, ever. I was so happy to purchase this classic album (I had the original LP). Did not take the time to figure out the 1 and 2 by the title of each piece. I added the album to a play list and cannot hear any cut completely, because ITunes split each song into 2 parts. WHY?!!! The music is wonderful, chopping it up is not. I wish I could return my purchase and try to get the album,as it was intended to be listened to, into my library. The music is timeless. You blew it iTunes, but you got my money anyway!

    I was a DJ at a college radio station doing my Friday night jazz show when the cover of this record (yes. LP) inrigued me. I auditioned the first track and after 30 seconds plunked it on the air. Brought it home to my fellow guitar playing roomate and said "Listen to this!" " We were sold, and eons later I still am in love with this original recording.

    A fantastic breakthrough album for classical and jazz. This original recording is difficult to find and ITunes takes advantage of those of us who want it by price gouging and deceptive practices. I thought that numbers 1 and 2 were different versions of the same song...I would have never thought that you had to buy the same song twice to get the entire song! By the time I was done clicking, I had paid more than twice what the entire album was advertised at. Shame on Apple and Itunes. If I see this practice again, I will quit Itunes and go to an alternate music source.

    The music is fantastic, even those who "don't like Jazz" will love it. The composer is brilliant and will be part of our music history forever. Don't miss this most magnificent music.

    Claude Bolling is a genius. This album was the first i(and best) in his pioneering creations to fuse baroque classical music with modern jazz. The first track, Baroque and Blue (split into two parts by iTunes and sold for .99 per part), is light, refreshing and upbeat. The rest of the tracks (again all split into two parts by iTunes and sold as if each half were an original track) are almost as good. Dadosam is absolutely correct. Fabulous, pioneering music and a classic (not classical) album. Shameful attempt at trickery by iTunes.
