I've been a long-time fan of Neil Sedaka so I'll love just about anything he produces. This album highlights his true songwriting genius from the more simple doowop style to the brilliant Manhattan Intermezzo symphony bonus track. Off the bat my two favorite songs are Broken Street of Dreams and Heart of Stone, both of which carry a slightly different Sedaka feel. While this is a purely acoustic album, I'd love to hear Heart of Stone separately released as a bigger production number...calling David Foster? Beginning to Breathe Again is a classically beautiful Sedaka song straight from the heart. His older hits - You, Breaking Up, Laugther, and Amarillo - are delightful to revisit with just Neil and the piano. If you know Neil and love Neil, you'll surely love this sweet collection of music. If you're new to Neil....listen more. There's a lot there.
