I listen to this artist regularly. The production, emotion and songs are stellar. But this if you want to live. It makes you feel alive.
  • Absolutely delicious.

An album inspired by Vincent Van Gogh, Rumi, and Federico García Lorca? This artist is a man after my own heart! The songs on this record are stupendously written, with an honesty and grace that can only be contributed by the likes of Matthew Perryman Jones. I am stunned. I don't even know what else I can say. Just.. thank you. Thank, you Matthew.

Matthew Perryman Jones is an artist that has quickly become my favorite new singer, he creates magic with his words. His craftmanship and visual writing style draw you in. The writing on the song "Stones from the riverbed" and the new visually intoxicating video are some of the most creative I've seen in long while. These songs continue to showcase one of the most talented and under rated artists out there, this guys just amazes me with his vision.
  • Many great songs on this album

I've heard some of his songs before but I am just beginning to appreciate him-gifted writer and musician. This album is great. Stones from the Riverbed is my new favorite song and I can't get enough of it. A masterpiece.

Matthew Perryman Jones put most of the songs on "Land of the Living" together in concert with a performance by the Nashville Ballet this weekend called "…but the flowers have yet to come" and it is the most beautiful work of art I have seen in many, many years. Nashville ain't just twang, y'all.

One of my all time favorite albums. You'll be hooked from the first listen. This album has sweeping orchestration and powerful, cerebral lyrics. What a joy to listen to. "You cannot love in moderation Dancing with a dead man's bones Lay your soul On the threshing floor "I heard the distant battle drum The mockingbird spoke in tongues Longing for the day to come I set my face, forsook my fears I saw the city through my tears The darkness soon will disappear And be swallowed by the sun I am coming home"
