Sony signed Lang Lang to a three million dollar recording contract, and this is the first album from that contract. This two-disc CD was recorded during February and March of this year at Vienna's historic Musikverein, perhaps best known to American audiences for the annual New Years PBS broadcast concerts of the Vienna Philharmonic. Excellent performances and the production sounds really good too. Lang Lang is a unique talent, and it's great to see that there are still recording contracts being given to Classical Artists.
