Further elaboration would spoil the effect but one should take it as it is presented and listen at will to the counterpoint of the conversations,sounds,music quotations. Trying to analize or classify this would be against the spirit of the piece. It's a stream of conscience piece that is tightly constructed and is breathtaking in it's scope. It might not be what you'd expect to hear but then again Gould was renowned for breaking down our expectations of how we hear things. -Bz
