Incredible. Hard swingin'

This album has everything- maybe his finest full length big band release. Some magic was happening during the sessions for this in NYC. At times insanely hard swinging, like on the opener- not one bum solo. Look at the cast of NYC's finest- Faddis is a freight train on lead trumpet, with standout solos from Renee Rosnes, Sean Jones, KAMASI Washington (typo in descr.), Steve Wilson, Ron Blake et al. When I say this is the most swinging, well constructed album of motivic and modal big band tunes i'm not exaggerating. and i've heard a ton of big band records. Peter Washington and Lewis Nash really hold it down. PICK THIS ONE UP, you won't be sorry. It is superior to the previous CD, new york, new sound. Musette is a ballad worth the price alone.
