Not just for Nyman obsessives...

... and I am a Nyman obsessive, but this work - performed by the Ulster Orchestra rather than the usual Michael Nyman Band - is very accessible. If you are barely exposed to Nyman or you are looking for classical music in which to immerse yourself without looking or feeling obvious, then preview this.
This version of the Piano Concerto sounds beautiful, as it would be hard to mess up by anyone. "Where the Bee Dances" is gorgeous, and a little long, so sit back and enjoy at least the first track from the beginning to end, whether at home or in the car. You will see why Nyman is the master at what he does, and only he could employ a saxaphone part as skillfully as he does not only here, but in every great Michael Nyman Band piece, too.
