This chick is so wonderful, her music is like warm carmel on vanillia ice cream, so wickedly sweet, its insprirational up lifting and moving. It'll have you up and out of your seats doing moves you never knew you could. Her futuristic rifts and clashes will have you wanting more.

Janelle Monae has succeed on her debut "Metropolis Suite I: The Chase" with flying colors. Being the protegee of Outkast's, Antwan "BigBoi" Patton, helps to validate a part of why she's so special. Both lyrically and musically profound, this joyride will find you lost in a world of beautiful imagination. Funky-soul, operatic and a bit of hip-hop all rolled into one, the music presented on this album transends race, gender and time. This is steadily becoming my favorite album from this year. I love how imaginative and fresh this album is. Doesn't sound recycled like many of the albums released this year. I am hooked and can't wait for the other suites. This is surely going to be a classic for future Cyber Hipsters!!!!!!!

The only reason why I'm giving this 4 stars is because I can do without tracks 1 & 4--although the former sets the stage, and the latter sets the mood for the track "Sincerely, Jane." At any rate, her production team came up with a clever idea--to release her music in "suites" that'll cater to the "playlist generation", that is, people who don't have the patience to listen to full-length releases anymore. Ms. Monáe's voice is beautiful, and the lyrics are thought-provoking as well, especially on the final track. PLEASE SUPPORT THIS TALENTED ARTIST, WE NEED MORE LIKE HER!
