As a singer in a professional ensemble, I found this recording extremely helpful and beautiful. Unlike other performances, such as by the London Orchestra, I found this recording very impassioned and striking. Diction is excellent and is not overpowered by the musicians. I would definitely recommend this recording above others offered and am humbled that I am also able to produce such wonderful and powerful music.

I suppose I should start by admitting my biases: I recently viewed one of my favorite films, "Excalibur," again and decided to look for some of the music from the (absolutely wonderful) soundtrack. The soundtrack being unavailable these days, I settled on this recording of Carmina Burana. Although there are more famous recordings out there, I decided after listening to some samples that this one from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Chorus was most evocative of the heroic mood I was trying to recapture. I was absolutely not disappointed. The arrangement is crisp and stirring and never gets bogged down, like some others I listened to. An excellent performance of this familiar piece, which has been included in the soundtrack to so many films (although Excalibur was the first to my memory).
