Great take on my personal favorite song from Matisyahu. This is really great... you could argue better than the original, which was awesome to begin with. (The music video ain't bad either!)

I first heard about this song in my History class. I loved it from the very beginning. I like the fast pace of this version. It puts out a great message to everyone no matter what religion or belief. We can all use Matisyahu as an example of acceptance.
  • Great New Version!

I am very impressed with this new version of Jerusalem. It has a more Reggae feel to it, and I honestly like it better than the version on Youth. Great Job Matis!

Matisyahu is my favorite performer; however I would personally reccomended "Jerusalem" on the Youth CD. It is a much better song.

I really don't like this type of music but there is something here, Jerusalem (out of the darkness comes light) is a very solid song. This opens the door for me to this kind of music and I will be watching Matisyahu and others like him a little more.
  • Horrible and Annoying

There's so much wrong with this album and this artist I don't know where to begin. His lyrics and his voice for starters. His music is literally unlistenable. I defy anyone with actual taste to listen to this. Plus he's a sexist wack-job who won't even share the stage with a woman. AND he markets his music to college stoners, even though he is vehemently anti-pot. DREADFUL.
  • great... to put it simply

this is sucha great song and as a wailers fan and a Jew it means a ton to me. I mean Hannukah is not in the bible but as a song it's great. Not only are the lyrics original the song has a great beat and tune. Also, check out matisyahu's message in a bottle. It's good!

I listened to this matisyahu like a month or two ago and I didn't like it, but then this morning I decided to give it a second listen, and oh man was I wrong! Matisyahu has a positivity in his music that is so awesome and is an amazing break from what I usually listen to (Metal). A lot of the stuff that he is saying in his songs is awesome, him and I have a little different beliefs(I'm a christian), but I respect that and heck, this is a freaking awesome song!
