I fervently anticipated news of the Tanyas, so when I stumbled across Scattered Leaves the day iTunes released it, I couldn't believe my good luck! From the three songs, I can already feel their familiar mind-set - a stubborn "life happens" sentiment, which is boldening (and somehow comforting) to hear. It does happen, but that's no reason to let go or withdraw into your own little world. You'll either accept it, or you won't, much like the Be Good Tanyas themselves. You'll either like them, or you won't. But they'll keep on going, wherever the dusty road leads.

It's been too long since the last album but this is SO good. The voices, the harmonies and the unique and totally cool sound of three girls who sound like nobody else. Good, good stuff.
