  • Rare and Outstanding!

Only Robert Rich would venture so deep into this arhcaic territory of the human soul. Forget all the new age artist who would sugar coat a journey into our primative sonic roots, for commercial interests, and make it pleasing and accessible to the modern ear who wants something to "relax" to. This album is the real deal, a re-creation of a vision of what truly ancient music, with all of its visceral trappings and deep implications, can sound like. Robert assembled an amazing group of musicians, including an intriguing vocalist, to record an album that is purely acoustic, mysterious, ingenious, grounding and intimately relaxing
  • Dischordant...not relaxing.

I found this album (sadly) to be worth deletion. By the snippets permitted, the tracks generate interest, however for long listening, this body of work by Rich seems to limit the listener's ability to deeply relax. Compared to other works, such as Sunyata or Trances and Drones, this album has repetetive elements that feel clunky, asynchronous. There are vocal and wood block elements which are stirring, not soothing.
