Either singing Queen’s songs or his original songs Marc Martel’s talent is beyond words. Extraordinary voice, musical skills, charisma, love for what he does and the joy he transmits in his performances make for a MUST LOVE artist.
It’s been a while since I didn’t feel the need to download a song to have with me 24-7, that’s until I came across Marc’s albums.

I actually saw Marc in concert in Montgomery, AL with Black Jacket Symphony covering Queen songs. I can honestly attest that he sounds exactly like Freddie Mercury and has such an amazing talent!! I thoroughly enjoyed the concert and am so happy that I was able to be there!! Marc your voice is amazing and your ability to sound like Freddie helps keep his spirit alive.

Full disclosure I haven’t bought this yet. I am a huge fan of Queen. I am a huge fan of Marc Martel. Kevin Maxx singing David Bowie’s part on Under Pressure was a great choice. But what I really want is for Marc to be Marc and sing his own music. I love songs like Stalemate and Straightjacket. Stalemate is so personal and real life. It resonates in an incredible way. Straightjacket is fun and unique and true. There are so many other great songs that are Marc’s. Don’t know if you will see this Marc but you are way more than a guy that sounds like Freddie. Freddie was Freddie because of uniqueness. You are you because of your uniqueness. Be you. Be original. In the end I am sure I will buy this but not because it is Queen’s music. I will buy it because it’s Marc Martel.

Yes, Marc has a great voice. So, almost, but not as people are saying, Freddie reincarnate. But then nobody sounds like Freddie who exudes an quixotic energy never to be replicated.

I’ve been blessed by Marc’s song writing and vocal gifts for years with the band Downhere. Marc’s voice has the flow of fine wine and then a grizzled rip saw cutting through dynamic ranges reserved for the most talented. He could’ve avoided the obvious comparisons and just tossed out an obscure collection. I’m glad he has embraced the opportunity and blest us with a unique honoring homage. No one else has could’ve done this.
