This is what skillet should be, it’s more like what they did with collide! Love skillet, but this is SOOO much better.
  • Dark, gritty, heavy but full of Life.

I love this dark side of John Cooper. I have wanted him to do some screaming in some of Skillet's songs for a while so to see that he does it on FTF's songs makes me super happy. The heavy guitar rriffs combined with his raspy voice make these songs very enjoyable. The lyrics are good too, I don't get why people are saying that they are cheesy, when they're not. Please listen to the whole EP before posting innacurate info.

There are a lot of nice chords and beats here. With the exception of the lead singer, this band exudes far more creativity than Skillet. No comparison in my opinion.
  • Skillet 2.0

Musically these songs are sick. They did a really good job on these, but the lyrics are far away from who Skillet is as a band. Now i know this isn't meant to be Skillet, I just have huge difficulties understanding why every song is dark and without hope in it. The music industry is already over flowing with lyrics that have no hope in them why add to the pot. Writing a song about the struggles of life is one thing, but songs that have zero hope in them is not what I expected or desired coming out of John Cooper.. It just falls flat for me and i have no reason to go back and listen to something that is going to drag me down to a place of no hope.
