Is This the Real Life - Single

Since around 2010 Emery has been my default favorite band. I was still in high school in 2010. Teenage hormones, melodrama, and all that. Now I'm an adult with a job, but I still love these guy's music. But even though I've aged, I haven't really outgrown Emery. Maybe it's because Emery's music has changed in a lot of ways since The Weak's End. Which is how it should be. If you're not moving forward, you'll get left behind. Is This the Real Life (an obvious reference to Queen) caught me off guard on a lunch break at the company I work at. I couldn't hear the music very well over the sound of Modern Family blaring in the tiny cramped kitchen, but it was a welcome relief from the monotonous assembly work and a general lack of good, new music in my life. The chorus is very catchy and it ends in the uniquely Emery fashion of multiple tracks of Matt and Devin singing various, sundry lines of dialogue, none entirely understandable. I can tell it's going to be a classic for me, but at the same time I feel like there are even better songs waiting for me once their new album releases.
