Hey folks. This is also a DVD, which may explain the 9.99 pricetag.
  • What the heck? $9.99 for 5 songs?

my review is for the band not this album (because i would never buy this album) because its 9.99 for 5 (actually 4) songs! this is precisely why i (a huge itunes supporter from the beginning) no longer purchase from itunes. its really sad this whole new pricing scheme and the bands who lose out because of it. wise up guys and fight those record labels, they need itunes more than itunes needs them. this is another reason why people just download for free (illegally) instead. sorry for the rant.

Everything Ecstatic Pt. 1 was one of the most excellent albums I have ever heard in this genre. Not really understanding why so many people bash that album as not matching up to the quality of Rounds and Pause. However, this extension of EE isn't something new and exciting overall, so don't rush to download these songs.

While I wouldn't say this is an amazing album (not only because it is more like a long ep), if you're into experimental electronic music, it's definitely not just more of the same. It's got some of that Cinematic Orchestra/Dj Food flavor as far as the drums are concerned, but he does more with overlaps in looping a la early Steve Reich. I like it.

Everything Ecstatic (part 1) was full of great sounds and textures that I'd never experienced before in electronic music. Part 2 continues some of the themes of Part 1 but also opens up a whole new sonic world. Both albums balance musical order and chaos in ways I find breathtaking. They might not appeal to you if you don't enjoy experimental music at all, but I recommend giving them a listen anyway. I found the $10 price for the whole album (with the long album-only first track) a bit steep since it's only 5 songs total, but after buying it I think it's worth the price.
  • Ever heard of broad influences?

This recording is a masterpiece in that it draws from Mingus style jazz, to minimalistic classical music. This mix of eclectic electronica is perfect, and can be appreciated for its transporting aesthetic - or for its intellectual overtones.

Of course this sounds like crap. It's not supposed to be what all of you expect it to be. It's a different type of music all together. that being said.... this sounded like crap.
