It's striking how different the opening is of this recording of Williams Cello Concerto from Williams recording with Yo-Yo Ma. The discrepancy is really limited to the opening and a few articulated passages. It's a strong performance from deMaine,Slatkin and the DSO who continue their mission to record all the Williams concertos, a noble task!
