Decent album, but I can't rate it as high as the others. Mixture of different types of songs. First two tracks are solid, then it's up and down in my opinion. "Midnight Lake Michigan" is a long instrumental jam that never takes off. Good sounding album and good performances. It's good but not great.
  • Lovelovelove it!

Great album. I hope it brings Devon the recognition he deserves. He is a very talented musician in his own right.

Devon has done it again with ragged & dirty, his second solo album. This record is filled with soulful, bluesy rock gems. To me this is reminiscent of his Honeytribe days and he has broadened his reach on this even further and it doesn't get better than that. Devon's voice is so solid, strong and unique and delivered with the passion that he gets and shares with his father, simply put amazing. His blues rock guitar is smokin hot, the jams are FANomenial and his band torches it up so very well. I have been a huge fan of Devons for many years, back to the Vargas blues band days and Honeytribe is at the top of my list. I dig the royal southern brotherhood and feel that this is the best, top notch work he has done. I truly appreciate an artist like Devon who is constantly putting out quality music, are passionate about what they do and hold their family in the highest regards. I will tell you that Midnight Lake Michigan is one of the finest jam tunes around Dad, Uncle Duane and Dickey are made proud here. Ten Million Slaves is fantastic. In fact every tune on this is terrific. Check this one out. Highest of recommends. Enjoy!

Devon Allman releases better stuff with every CD and continues to top himself. This CD is simply a beast. It's contemporary, but stays true to it's blues roots. It's happy and fun and rollicking and music that you can easily drive your car too fast to. Devon is taking the already legendary Allman to a whole new level of fun and accessibility. Can't say enough great things about this. A must have for fans of rock, blues, SRV, The Allmans, Southern rock... Well done, Devon and band.
