Just wanted to listen to this song and realized it's not the same song that I used to have. They replaced it! And added a tag "first pass". Maybe because this song is also in the upcoming album, Hardwired... to Self Destruct? Doesn't matter for what reason. Huge Metallica fan, but disappointed. They really don't need to do this.

This particular song doesn't cut it for me, too transparent in the way of musicianship regarding the falsettos and overall craft of this particular song. The first song on this album is very good, and well versed by getting back to metal-basics and all of this transitional passage of "right to be the same band" isn't realistic. Musical evolution appeals to yourself as a musician or artist first, second is to appeal to the masses by diversification. No one can't expect any band to stay the same [or sound the same] or you lose fans. Metallica as a band, overall who they are is well who they are.

You've got to find the guitar tone from Puppets, Justice, and Black.

They make music for themselves... Just like any artist/band should... If you don't like it... Don't buy it... I'm sure they could care less... I for one enjoy anything they make... Everyone wants to hear the same thing over and over and over again... If that's what you want listen to classic rock radio... Bands have to grow and change... Especially bands that have been around for 30+ years.

This song isn't bad and it's Kill Em like in a way. They just need to get rid of that Death tone and bring in Flemming Rasmussen for one last album!

This is a song for the sun to come back and shine it's light on us and make us feel like we will have a great summer. Metallica has done it again and will be a great song for summer time and say " THE LORDS OF SUMMER HAS RETURNED!!!!!

Everything after the Black album has sucked, period. Lost the sound, lost the inspiration. The songs and vocals are all forced. James cannot sing!! Especially with no effects on his voice. You had a great run guys, check please!

Bands change constantly. The fact that each of their albums sounds different is just a thing that happens. Art is experimental. The muddy guitar or strained vocals some may hear are just them trying to switch it up a bit. Sure, I can agree with the masses and say that the first 5 albums are best. But I have no reason. To rip on other albums because they are seperate from the others.

This song is awesome and hard core like the last album and the 80's Metallica material. Can't wait for their new album to drop! :)
