  • Simply Great

Some music just pleases my ears and this hit the sweet spot for me. I'm a bit of a new commer to the Ben Harper fan wagon but am glad I have found my way to his music. Ellen Harper reminds me of a combination of Emmylou Harris and Norah Jones. My sincere thanks to both Ben and Ellen for this great album!

  • childhood friend

Ben and I grew up together in Claremont. We spent our early years as best friends….Many gallons of rainbow sherbet and cool whip! His entire family are old souls. His grandfather, mom, brothers….His music gives me piece and reminds me of the “good ole’ days” when we were young and free...
  • Heart warming

I have been a fan of Ben Harper since the early 90's when my friends and I used to hear him at the Belly Up in Solana Beach, CA. This work with his mother is so very sweet and dear. Having two beloved sons, I know how strong the relationship is between a mother and son. This feels like a tribute to their love for each other. It's beautiful. I've always loved Ben's soft music the best. It matches his gorgeous voice.
  • Ben at His Core

    By johnbear2424
I was introduced to the music of Ben more than twenty years ago. His words and music have been a major influence and part of my life. Whether it was the path of my own life, or his music, or a combination of both, I did not connect with some of his later albums the past decade, at least not like I had the first decade. I have heard a lot of great Ben Harper including his original demo with Tom Fruend and the first time he sang on stage with his mom. A House is a Home may be my new favorite Harper song, and for me Ben really has found his core again in this album with his mom.

  • Why can't an artist have than one voice?

    By Cny native
How restricting to be only one style or voice. The harmonies on this are beautiful and the human voice is what makes it so. It's up to the artist to follow his heart, not to conform to what the past dictates. That's what makes us all grow.
  • Great Job!

I wouldn't change a thing! It's made so much sweeter for Ben to sing of home with his Mom. Born to love you took my breath away. Reminds me of days gone, and the music people made. I'm sure they shared many special times creating this. Ben Harper will always have a place on my playlists. Shame on anyone who thinks his mom shouldn't be on here. It sounds all the better, you pompous git.
  • Get back to your heavier stuff!!!

    By DaaaaBearssss
BH is so much better when he plays real rock, not this folky crap. He's gotten old and boring fast. Shame. Loved his early stuff
