  • Of All The Compilations, This One Is Best

Of all the Smiths (over-released) "Best-Of"'s, this deluxe, double CD is actually the one to get. If you are new to the Smiths, get "Hatful Of Hollow" and Truly taste the band as they were MEANT to sound. Otherwise...this compilation is a pretty decent introduction to the True sound of the Smiths. Understand that The Smiths ONLY released a grand total of 88 songs in their entire catalogue; meaning if you get this, you're procuring a full THIRD of their output utterly in one full scoop, barring live performances and stuff. Above all else...if you are such a person as to not be certain as to whether yu are a fan or not....just move on entirely. Because with The Smiths, either you're ALL IN, or ALL OUT; there is no "Yeah, I just kind of like them". No. Not with this band. No Sir. You either LOVE THEM or utterly HATE THEM with every fibre of your being. Go ahead. Take a taste test: see if I'm right.

I'm a big fan of Morrissey when he was with The Smiths and when he was solo. How Soon is Now? is my favorite track from the album, and I like others, too! I'm 20 years old, and 80's music is my favorite music, and I like some modern bands, too! This album deserves five stars!

This brings me back to the 80s if only Marr and moz can reckoncile and we could get a tour out of these legends.
