This album made me a Black Sabbath fan

Technical Ecstasy was my introduction to Black Sabbath, not exactly the best album to start off with, but this album made me a fan. It covers the most well known songs from the first three albums. I would have chosen different songs from Vol. 4 and only one song apiece is chosen from Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage. Still, this album really turned me on to early Sabbath and made me want to buy all the individual albums. And that picture of the lady in a coffin scared the heck out of me when I was a kid!
Not the original but really good!!!

To those old enough to remember, "Warning" and "N.I.B." are here, just merged with other songs, as they are on the American edition of the first album, "Black Sabbath." Like it or not, and I don't particularly, that's the way the first album is. This is the only country in which it is this way.
The original vinyl just had "Warning" & "N.I.B" as single tracks. The cassette did as well. The 1988 CD removed "Warning" & "Laguna Sunrise" to make this album fit on 1 CD.
Obviously, the Sabbath albums were remastered in 2002 and again in 2012, then for digital release. In 2002, a different compilation with 13 additional tracks, "Symptom of the Universe" was released on CD. "Warning" stood alone as did "N.I.B" although not with Geezer's opening bass solo. I personally found the 2002 remasters to be superior. Because the albums were released in 2004 using the 2002 remasters, I was able to copy "N.I.B." onto a CD. I then made this album across 2 CDs, as it originally was. I still have it.
With all of this in mind, can you go wrong by purchasing the digital version? Absolutely not, although I recommend just buying the Complete Studio albums collection. Rather, I recommend you purchase the "Black Box" CD-set or "Complete Albums Box" CD-set, provided you can find the latter. I even recommend the "Symptom of the Universe" collection, which is 29 songs. If you have the capability, you can make "We Sold Our Soul" as I did using those remasters, or you can enjoy "Symptom of the Universe" as it is, the same as I do.
If "Symptom of the Universe" had been published first, we would regard it as the official Sabbath greatest hits. Anyway, this review is for the purpose of telling those who may not know what options are available. This record is phenomenal though, and I can't recommend it enough.

Classic Album. So good I’ll probably buy it again when the new fruit company figures out a legal way to delete it off my computer again. No worries, my uncle runs a victrola station that no one knows about.

to black sabbath, NOT this album, but the originals. I can even (really ) appreciate the Ronnie James Dio years, may his soul be black sabbath forever.
Ozzy is BY FAR the most recognizable voice in R&R. I was fortunate enough to see him (Ultimate Sin tour) say what you want but the man is INSANITY on stage. I wish my eyes were open in the late 70s early 80s. Sweet leaf to all you all, because fairies wear boots and they dance with the trolls.

I love N.I.B. But why the bloody hells does it always need to be merged with other songs? I would enjoy just the single.
