One of my Yoga teachers plays Bad Moon Rising during her Yoga class. When you think about it, a strange choice. However I just fell in love with it and asked her who it was and bought this. I listened to it five hours straight over ear plugs flying back from Hawaii. Her voice and the arrangements are just amazing. It has been years since I was so captivated by an album. I am learning to sing and play three of the songs including When I'm Gone...what a jewel!
Love it

I just tripped over this artist by chance, and glad I did....Beautiful voice, love the folksy sound, and the do-overs are better than the originals.
Better than original

An incredible version of Phil's When I'm Gone. The rest is good too but that song is worth the price of admission.
Awesome!

This album is really great! Why there are only 2 reviews (well, 3 now), I can't understand. Is it that people are not hearing Thea's beautiful voice and brilliant ability to cover a song without the original getting lost? It's so worth your time to give this album and this artist a listen!
Wow

I'm not normally a fan of covers albums -- especially from songwriters whose original work I greatly admire. But Thea Gilmore's "Loft Music" is a start-to-finish stunner. Check out her "Bad Moon Rising" and "Don't Come Close": I can't think of many folks who could take a Creedence Clearwater Revival song and a Ramones song and make both better than the originals -- staying true enough to the source material to show respect while also making them entirely their own. Those two cuts are the dazzlers here, but frankly, there's not a bum track on the whole album.
