I grew up listening to this on 8-track in the backseat of my parents’ car during trips around Los Angeles/Orange County. This loses a star because there is music missing, especially John Williams’s music from the “Pogrom” sequence. I don’t know if it’s a right issue or what, but this shall stay at four stars until this is rectified. Otherwise, great tunes on this.

They are really awesome. I would give it 500,000 stars if I could.

I grew up on musicals and got married at a time when everyone had Sunrise Sunset in their wedding ceremony. I usually am a fan of Broadway versions over their screen counterparts, but not in this instance. Topol is spot on and the whole screen version is just so full of movement and life. As a bonus, a very young and adorable Paul Michael Glaser makes his big screen debut in this version. The guy can sing among a myriad of other talents. It is a shame his song “Any day Now” was cut, but if interested there are clips to be found on YouTube.

This is so good on so many levels. As a dad of a daughter, I could so relate to Tevye’s conflicts. Just a thoroughly enjoyable movie and beautiful soundtrack. Topol’s rich voice made it all that much easier to watch and listen to.👏👍

Personally I love this album because I have seen the movie many times and enjoy it. I also think Topol is a better at this role because he sounds ethnically correct for the role but this album is missing a few songs which makes weary to buy it ( I am well aware that some songs where not included in the movie). I just have a conflict because I always love to get the full experience but I also love the movies.

I was raised on musicals, so I can happily trace this one all the back to my preschool days. My mom and I must have worn out a couple VHS tapes of this movie. I have since seen it on stage and remain the devotee I was as a child. Although I own the original broadway cast album, I prefer Topol to Zero Mostel. Zero overracted this role to the point of making it a caricature. Ah, but this, this is perfection.

This LP (for you who don't know what that is Long Play record) brings back Saturday's spent at my Aunts house all day & late into the night. Mom and Dad would be playing card all day and listening to their records as for us kids would be playing outside till dark then in the house to watch shows like The Love Boat. My Aunt always play it cause she liked so much. Boy I miss those simple time in life since I'm 45 now and have a son of my own that 23..
