Excellent, and very personal Solo Jazz Guitar

A beautiful set, recorded in an intimate setting. Peter plays these songs (some with their underplayed verses) in such a way, he transcends the instrument. Rather than likening this to a typical solo guitar record, I would compare it to something like a live at Maybeck disc. He plays melody and harmony with a pick, which adds to the dynamic range of the guitar in this setting, and distinguishes this from something like a Joe Pass record - played mostly with fingers. Peter's technique puts melody on the forefront, something I think is lost in many solo guitar performances. Everyone who is interested in jazz should check this out, deeply. Guitarists like myself will delight in this record, especially.
