Shocking to see so few reviews of an album that has been meaningful for me in recent years. I just purchased their most recent album without listening to a note.
Blending great beats, a voice that has not limit of soul, and lyrics that break your heart and make you smile; Joy Wellboy are a musical touchstone.
So good.

I never review, and i'm reviewing it because i was so suprised to see only one review for such a good album! This album is great. Her voice is silky smooth and so unique. Kind of quirky, kind of eccentric. But there are so many good songs on this album, it doesnt have just two or three. Great songs to drive to, to chill, to relax. Props Joy Wellboy, for doing something different. Her tone and presentation reminds of a mix of Lana Del rey and Sade. I can dig.
Good stuff.

Definitely in my top three dance albums this year.
I'm dinging it one star because a the overall album seems a little same-y, although never so much that you lose track of the progression of songs.
The overall vibe is halfway between electro soul and what Delirium would sound like if they weren't pure cheese. The clips don't really do the album justice as many of the songs have a haunting vibe that takes a while to really get under the skin.
If you're looking for some a little downtempo, there's really no good reason to sleep on this one.
