The Dreamer (Acoustic Version)

True talent is displayed just like this: a man and his guitar, showing his unadulterated voice, mistakes and all; this is why I go to live shows—I want to see what a musician is all about, without the magic of studio fixes. It is brave for a performer to put out an recording like this, and I applaud, you for doing so, Rhett. I did not (yet) purchase the studio version of this album, but I am all over this one!

I love the original version, but after listening to this acoustic version of "The Dreamer", I wish Rhett would go back and cut similar versions to all his albums. He is truly an amazing talent. And the Old '97's aren't too bad either! :-)

This is how it sounds to see Rhett perform a solo set before his full band The Old 97's plays a full on show. The original versions are beautiful and lush and then you have these versions that are perfectly stripped of production down to just Rhett's amazing voice and guitar. Listening to this is like sitting in a room alone with Rhett while he performs an intimate solo set just for you. Stand out songs "Out of Love" and "Picture this".
