Nothing like Richie from Before

I am not sure what to make to this collaboration. If you are a true Richie Hawtin fan, this collaboration is a sharp departure from his previous magnificent work (which does not appear to be available on iTunes for some reason). Richie is known, famous, infamous for incredibly detailed and sophisticated mixing of the most intricate minimal house you could ever hear. This cd, however, sounds like he and Pete Namlook just collected the source material, combined it on a computer, and just let 'er rip, without any of the focus, drive and craftsmanship of past efforts.
If you are interested in a rehashed Tangerine Dream or atmospheric background music, then you may enjoy this collection. If you are listening for ANY semblence of a follow-on, update, or even new interpretation of what Hawtin fans have come to know and love, you will have to keep searching.
