Standing in stark contrast to the majority of popular bands out there, Ester comprises musicians who not only know what they're doing, but love to do it. And it comes through loud and clear. The musicianship on this CD is top-notch; there is nothing forced or rushed or sloppy about their distinctive sound, an atypical mix of Ry Cooder noir and pseudo-jazz noodlings.
