This is an excellent CD of real trio jazz. All three of these guys are interacting on a very intense yet accessable level. I am a big fan of piano jazz trio music and have always enjoyed the purity of this format for improvisation and interpretation. These arrangements are all excellent starting with a fresh arrangement of the awesome tune "Hey Joe." I absolutely love this music and you can tell the players love it too. Bravo!
Best yet

Continues to amaze, I find this to be the most complete and listenable effort to date.
Why do they even keep going on?

Mehldau and company did stellar work in the past, but seem to have run out of ideas. No new ground has been covered here. It's stale, predictable, and a parody of it's better former self. If you want to hear a trio that has some fresh ideas AND does decent covers of pop tunes, look no further than to The Bad Plus! -Bz
Superb!

Incredible new album, from the first to the last track. This is by far one of the best work of the trio. Time Has Told Me and Jam are capturing some new waves I have not noticed in previous albums (I have the full discography).
Definitely recommended to all the listener that arrived to this page. If you do not know this bad, you will get to love it from this album on...

I normally wince at cover albums but these interpretations are exceptions to the rule. Where Do You Start? I started at Hey Joe, genius cover, these guys are consummate pros. Larry is on fire with his bass solo. Good stuff!
Thanks
