John Denver was at his writing and singing peak He may have more popular songs, but he never really put together a full cohesive album until this one, Windsong. Starting off with the beautiful title track, Winding has 4 incredible singles, I’m Sorry, Fly Away (with Olivia Newton John providing terrific backing vocals), the great Calypso dedicated to the works of Jacques Cousteau, and a wonderfully written Looking for Space. Listen to the words of Looking for Space - what a tremendous song about finding inner peace, serenity, and self-worth. Anyone who thinks John Denver was this aw-shucks country western singer must listen to Winding and truly hear Denver’s passionate love for the planet and humankind. This is essential JD.
