It was nice to see them come back from their last album. Favorite song is Be Still.

Scars & Stories marks, in my opinion, the beginning of this band's tumble into irrelevance. One listen and it's instantly clear that this album is inferior to their first two outings. There's palbably less heart to the tunes as they feel cheaper, less original, and inauthentic. Though all of the songs feature competent vocals and instrumentals, nothing really sticks out here and there are next to no identifiable hits with far too many tracks. The album has a bloated feel as the songs blurr into each other. I can't seem to force myself to pay attention to (or care about) the content of the songs. This album feels like one long generic Fray song. The keepers on Scars & Stories do make for good rainy day music and they're headlined by the song Maps. Though the lyrics on Maps are pretty stupid, it still feels like the most salient "hit" on the album. Overall there's three 3 star songs and one 2 star song. The rest are all throwaways. By and large the throwaways are bland and forgettable and I don't love this band enough to hold on to their forgettable tracks.
  • This album got me through a really tough time.

This album came out when I was going through some serious depression. It felt so on point and cohesive, and the melancholy showed through. Still one of my favorite albums to this day.

To be honest, if it wasn’t for the deluxe tracks, I would’ve. rated this two stars. I thought I would like this album more because they did a better job on The Fray, but I guess I was wrong. Don’t get me wrong, though, there ARE still some good songs on here. Favorites: The Fighter, Turn Me On, I Can Barely Say, Ready Or Not, Why, and Streets of Philadelphia.

"Why" is one of my favories songs by Annie Lennox, not to mention one of my all-time favorite tunes overall. I really like how the Fray makes it their own, gives the lyrics a whole different vibe, not slow and dreamy but steady and direct. Gutsy. And "Be Still" is also a favorite. Great album.

First CD was one of the best ever, but they’ve just gotten worse and worse. Really lost their sound. They were so unique and daring in their first album but their two most recent albums have strayed greatly from what got them there. Very disappointing.

I love this album better than their newest one. Rainy Zurich is just amazing. I don't even know how I got into the Fray but I am glad I did👌

I love this record. The Fray are not just a cookie cutter pop band. The songs are great and full of awesome melodies and hooks. A lot more rocking than previous albums, but it's a great evolution and still sounds true to the band. The covers are really cool too!
  • Best all around album by them!

Scars and Stories is definetly a great album. If u are a fan of this band you have no reason for not picking up the entire deluxe album! Every single song on this album is worth the money. My only complaint with the album is that it lacks a deep moving song, which were prominent in they're previous albums. Most of the songs have more upbeat feels then the previous albums which is good but would be better with something deeper. Ready or Not and Maps both make the deluxe version worth it and the fighter is my favorite of the base album. Not as good as there self titled album, but a close second.
