I witnessed Gretchen perform at a Jazz festival & knew I had to hear more. I was a little hesitant to buy her whole album, but I must say it was worth every penny!!! What a gift!

I'm usually a hard critic on new comers to the Jazz scene. However, this album is not a bad listen. I actually appreciate vibe it sends, the easiness on the ears, and even the remake of my favorite Mary J. Bilge "All That I Can Say" song. She didn't tear up the song, with all the extra runs, she kept it basic and it makes me appreciate her sense of style more. Very contemporary. If you need something to some music to bring down your day, this is it. Kudos

Yeah, what a surprise! I had no idea I would like it as much as I do. Nice voice that just makes everything smooth.

  • Why I hate "Ping"

Simple. I saw this woman as one of thise "you might also like..." type deals. I assumed it was this Ai software Apple uses to try to prove they are smarter than I am and know my tastes better then I do myself. Further I had them this time. I never heard of a "Gretchen Parlato". So I bite. I click. I am hooked before the first song is offered and it isnt even free! Three sings in I bought the album. Then another and $75 sollars later, I realized "Ping" IS smarter than I am and does know my tastes better than I. *shrug* At least I got a spectacular album ouyt of the deal. Or more a set of albums. Ping. Go figure. P.S. Unlike that Hunger Game thing I heard half an hour ago, music that moves my soul from Gretchen. Buy this one. Unheard till heard. It is rich like a well aged wine.

I kept passing her album looking for other talent. Big mistake. This album is awesome and has completely dominated my playlist now for several weeks.

Have any of you ever listened to a real jazz singer--one who can actually sing? How about Sarah Vaughn. This young lady is like the emperor who has no clothes!
