  • Best Christmas album ever.

Nostalgic but new. It never gets old. The arrangements are traditional but never stuffy. The Holly and the Ivy is my absolute favorite by Percy Faith.

The way Christmas music was played before it became highly stylized. This is minimalist, classy, and enduring.

Back in the '60s when I was a single digit kid my father would always put this wonderful record on as the first Christmas music as we decorated our fresh-cut tree from the tree farm in the Santa Cruz mountains of California each year. The expedition to get the tree, the decorating, the joy of childhood Christmas--all those memories come flooding back when I start this up on my iPod every christmas nearly 50 years later. Love it.

My parents played this vinyl album during the Christmas holiday, when I was little. In quiet darkness of our living room, I would sit and ponder the lit manger under our Christmas tree...while Silent Night, Holy Night played. Thanks iTunes!

Buy "Music of Christmas" album instead. It's the same artist and songs but $4 cheaper.

This is one of the beautiful, relaxing Christmas albums my sister would stack on her stereo and let play while we were eating Christmas dinner each year. Several years ago when she was getting rid of her record albums, I kept this one. SO glad to find it on Itunes! Beautiful, traditional arrangements.
