definitely exploring some different vibes, but this album is pure brilliance!!

There are things I like about this record, and there are things that I really don't. I like that every single song is a new genre that hasn't been brought of this band before. Stolen away was a jazzy hit; While old dirt hill sounded like a Hip hop song. All in all this album showed the amount of dexterity in every individual of the band, and the amount of communication levels between all of the band members. This album shows how much the band members really give a crap about each other. THEY HATE THIER OWN BAND NOW.
I typically dont write any reviews on here. I absolutely love DMB and love the songs on this CD when they are played live. The album versions of these songs are lacking though.
One of the best DMB albums (I think), very good replay value!
Don't listen to what people say
I hear so many people talking about how this is DMB's worst album, and I just don't agree. This was actually one of the first albums I heard by the band and one of the main reasons I even got into them. DMB is my favorite band and this album, just like everything else I've ever heard by them, is amazing and definitely worth listening to.

American Baby is my all time favorite song. My best friend introduced me to DMB, I think they are awesome. So far this isn't my favorite album, but hey, the band's still great.
Screw the haters.
Best Live Songs?
while not their best studio work, Bayou, hello again, american baby, and smooth rider (and sometimes die trying) have to be on the list as some of daves best lives songs. these songs were obviously written with the intent of being able to expand on them live which is what makes this such an underrated album.
Its OK, BUT......
While most DMB fans would agree this is not thier best work, PLEASE take this from the LP--there are some great songs on this LP that appear on various Live LP's. So while these versions are par, at best, have a listen to them on some of the Live LP's. They are much better in that context than this studio LP. Keep in mind this was about the time the band thought of splitting up, so that could play into why this is a crummy LP.
My favorite album from DMB to date! I could listen to it over and over without growing tired! 5 out of 5 from me!
