I'm a huge fan and trying to collect all releases, and I recently picked this up. If you're new to Squarepusher, I would avoid his "jazz" period - Music Is Rotted One Note, Budakhan Mindphone, and this release, although they're all great. They're just not typical. That being said - this is a great EP. The first 3 songs are very much in the jazzy/electronic vein of Mindphone, but I actually like them a little better. "Cranium Oxide" is hilarious to me for some reason, it's ridiculous. And the remixes are decent. Autechre's take on "Two Bass Hit" is pretty cool, but kind of dull. "Circular Flexing" is pretty cool. But the Luke Vibert mix of "Shin Triad" is worth the price alone. Vibert is such a genius, and he takes the track in a completely different direction. All of Luke's work, under any name, is highly recommended as well. Anyway...if you're new to Squarepusher, not the best place to start. If you already love his work, this is a must for your collection.
