This was a magical trip down memory lane. By accident, I purchased the Sting version, and it was awful. This was perfect. It reminds me of my childhood.

then i watched the stop motion one on Netflix... & it was just weird... XD so idk what's better... &.. i swear Peter & the wolf and the boy who cried wolf are the same story... in some kinda way... but ones a Russian version where he meets a cat, a duck,.... and a bird... another species.. and then a wolf who eats the duck, but the ducks fine... (Disney version i suppose).... and Peter kills the wolf.... i swear his grandpa is just,... cranky!.. XD

This reminds me of my childhood. I bought it for my own children.

This is really an excellent recording despite the original recording date. I would say somewhere in the mid 1960's because Boris Karloff died in 1968 or 1969. Whoever did the digital remaster did a superb job. Sounds very clean and bran new!! Orchestra players and Boris Karloff's voice is a five star performance as well.
