The Shins are a great band but by my account nearly every track on this Live Session sounds exactly the same as the original recordings!! ..but maybe just sped up *a little* IDK!! but you might as well buy wincing the night away dawgzz.

Just dropped by to tell all recent "music critics" to praise The Shins with correct spelling...or hang out with Kid Rock.

The Shins are one of my favorite bands. I must admit, I only heard of them because of that scene in the Zach Braff movie, Garden State, but, hey, if that isn't excellent marketing for a band, then I don't know what is. I've bought everything of The Shins that I could get my hands on. One of my favorite parts of their music is the quirky and beautiful sounds that seem to float forward from the sides and background. That was lacking on this live recording. I didn't hear the nice falsetto harmonious background vocals that their albums are rife with. That disappoints me. But I would still love to see them live.
  • This itunes exclusive is a must have

saw the Shins in 1998 in New Mexico, they were great then, and even better now. They have great lyrics, and sound incredible live. if there is anything on the calender this year, make sure on of them is to see the Shins.

I don't see anything wrong with these recordings. They sound pretty darn good live from what I hear. Obviously they aren't going to sound EXACTLY like their cd's. Who does? I think anything by them is good if not, excellent.

the shins....man are one of the greatest bands that have ever set foot on our unworthy planet. They truelly are sent from something much greater than any of us knows. And this live session depicts just a glimpse of their totally awesome awesomeness. I literally could listen to the shins forever.. If somehow I outlasted every human being on this earth and had nothing but the shins I would overly blessed with such a gift as that. enough said. btw if there was a button on the ratings that said a ga-jillian fo-fillian muzzilion dridijalilion stars..i would have chosen that more sufficient option.

the shins are amazing, but when I saw "live sessions" this was not what I was expecting. these songs souns exactly like the recordings. I was expecting mostly acoustic sessions that sounded raw and unperfected. Thats what I've always thought "sessions" were. I've heard The Shins do live sessions on Sirius Radio and they performed mostly acoustic versions and thats what I expected hear. Still, this set is not bad, its the Shins after all so you can't go wrong
