Questionable Razzie Nomination

The soundtrack, as I agree with the reviews, is awesome and so's the movie (both 1926 and 1984 versions).
And this was nominated for a Razzie? (mainly for the soundtrack and the song "Love Kills")
Awesome!!!

This was the first silent movie I ever saw, and I was completely transfixed from the get-go. Definitely one of my biggest inspirations as a sound person with film editing. Contemporary music with vintage footage? Wonderful. I know it's not "purist" to like the Moroder Metropolis, but whatever, haters - this is a fabulous rendition. It'll always have a major place in my heart. Great collection of artists. Great soundtrack, no matter what.

While I despise the 1981 "remastering" with a passion, I do have to admit that it's soundtrack has one thing about it that the original doesn't…
you can't really wave a lighter while listening to it.
Really?

You spelled Freddie Mercury's name wrong, geniuses. No wonder it took me so long to find this....
Amazing Haunting Soundtrack leaves you Begging for More!

Looking back at such a now "80s" style, colorizing a vintage film and putting a (then) cutting edge soundtrack by up-and-coming artists Bonnie Tyler has long been overlooked for the beginning due to all her contract problems but HERE SHE COMES takes the best of her Tammy Grimes gravel voice and marries a Giorgio Moroder haunting "drag" to the music that makes for an interesting mix. If only he had done a remix! Another standout is the weepy valentine from Pat Benatar, wish she would still do this in concert! And where the hell has Adam Ant been?!?!
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The 80's version of this Fritz Lang masterpiece is a disgrace. Having said that, so is this soundtrack. They should never have soiled the original theatrical film, and the original score for this film is one of the best in history. Don't mess with perfection!
Thanks for putting this soundtrack on iTunes!

I first watched Metropolis with the Moroder soundtrack when I was in grad school and loved it, especially the soundtrack. I've long since worn out my cassette with the soundtrack and have never been able to find it on CD so THANK YOU for putting it on iTunes. All the tracks on here are really solid. I really think it is one of the best ever vocals + instrumental tracks soundtracks.

The original movie by Fritz Lang is, of course, a masterpiece. The latest to come from King Video is the most complete version of the film there ever could be...over 1/3 of the film has to be considered lost forever. And watching the King Video version on DVD with the original soundtrack was absolutely entrancing - you need the music made in conjunction with the silent film to have the same effect. So this soundtrack, compared to the original, is just appalling and ruins the feel of what was originally a silent film.
