This seventh album by Barbra is her third television soundtrack in a row. "Color Me Barbra" was filmed in full color, the latest trend in television in the early 60's. "Yesterdays" by Rogers and Hart opens this set of standards and a vocalese of "The Minute Waltz" which is exactly two minutes, the video clip of this song features Barbra as Marie Antoinette on her way to the Guillotine. "Gotta Move" is stated by All Music Guide as a re-tread, it's a bigger production recut and this version would be used as part of the soundtrack for the film "Too Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar." During the sessions for this lp, Barbra was busy recording her French album, the total time it took her to complete the French lp was a whopping nine months, "C'est Si Bon" hails from those sessions. "Where Am I Going" was a hit for Dusty Springfield, her version is not as big as Barbra's, "Starting Here, Starting Now" starts off soft then reaches a powerful climax closing this set. True, the rather long medley of standards makes little sense out of context but is does little from keeping this lp a great listen. The mastering is an audiophiles dream.
